4 Features of Stroller Shades
Shade/Canopies: Because of babies’ sensitive skin, it’s important to protect them against the harmful sun’s rays. Many strollers provide some sort of shade from the sun with a canopy, although like everything else, there is a wide range in the type of coverage you can get. Other things to look for in a stroller canopy include:
- Flip-out visor: If you’re looking for a stroller with a little extra coverage, see if the canopy includes a flip-out visor. This allows you to give your child some extra shade on sunny days, and then flip it back underneath when it’s time to see the sights.
- Height-adjustable canopy: As your little one grows, you may find it convenient to have a canopy that can be raised or lowered to accommodate his or her growth. You can usually adjust the height by pulling up or pushing down on the canopy.
- Peek-in window: A window on the canopy allows you to check on your little one without having to open the canopy up or walk around to the front of the stroller. This can be especially helpful when it’s raining or the weather is a bit chilly.
- Pivoting/Detachable visor: Some visors can be detached from the seat back, allowing you to angle the canopy forward or backward, depending on the position of the sun.
