Virtual Baby Shower Today!
Today is the day that we celebrate a Mom Is Born! What is this? Along with My Mommy Manual we are celebrating a virtual baby shower for Virginia Kerr, the anchor on Channel 4′s early news show, Awake. This virtual baby shower is also a celebration of all moms!
During the two-hour celebration which you can attend through chats and videos, you will meet other parents, win prizes (lots of great baby gear including the Jeep Jogging Stroller!), learn about the Holding Hands bracelet and help support March of Dimes who will receive proceeds from A Mom Is Born!

Just think – you and thousands of other families will all be celebrating an event that helps kids appreciate the outdoors and healthy living. You can campout as a family, you can organize a campout with friends, neighbors – the sky is the limit!

We love how camping promotes children having the opportunity to be “unplugged” and connect with nature. To celebrate the Great American Backyard Campout, we are giving away a Jeep Wrangler All Weather Umbrella Stroller. All you have to do to enter is post your Great American Backyard Campout photo in our Magical Moments online photo album. We will pick a winner on Monday, June 28th. Stroller Strides and Father’s Day Contests!
Kolcraft at Stroller Strides for Wishes
There is a lot going on at Kolcraft this weekend and we hope we get to meet some of our fans virtually or in real life.
This Saturday is the annual Stroller Strides for Wishes 5K at Brookfield Zoo. Kolcraft will be there raffling off a Jeep Tandem stroller and answering all your stroller questions. Check in on Foursquare for the Kolcraft Stroller Strides Booth & get a free prize.
Speaking of prizes, there is a $100.00 gift certificate up for grabs at our Father’s Day Facebook Contest. The contest ends Sunday at midnight CST. It’s easy to enter. All you have to do is post of picture of the dad you are nominating and in 100 words or less tell us why he’s the world’s greatest dad.

Tip Tuesday
We love Moms!
We interrupt our normally scheduled Tip Tuesday to announce some winners. As you know we have been running a Marvelous Moms contest on Facebook where people submitted their mom, sister, girlfriend, wife, etc. as a Marvelous Mom. The judges had a hard time deciding between all the inspirational stories. They finally limited it to two: Lori who is caring for her husband who has cancer while she takes care of her children and her niece & Julianna’s mom who adopted her two children with special needs. In the end, the judges couldn’t decide so they left it up to random.org to decide and Julianna’s mom won a spa pamper package.
Our other contest was to win tickets to see the Babies movie. We loved that movie so much we had to send someone else to see it! Random.org picked Miranda. Looks like Miranda is overdue to see a movie since she hasn’t seen one since her three-year-old was born.
Since it is Tip Tuesday, our tip of the day is to enter Kolcraft contests because you can win great prizes!

Babies Movie Review

This Mother’s Day weekend, the Babies movie will hit theaters across the United States. Yesterday, courtesy of American Baby, Emilie & I had a sneak peek at Babies. From the trailers we saw and the articles we read we knew Babies would be a good movie, but we weren’t prepared for how good the movie would be. It was obvious from the “ohhh’s, ahhh’s and laughter in the audience that we weren’t the only ones who enjoyed it.
Babies chronicles the lives of four babies in different countries. It was amazing to see the differences in culture – Bayar was taken home on the back of a motorcycle after he was born! We are still in awe that his mom was able to ride a motorcycle after giving birth! Yet despite some differences, other things are universal; a mother’s love, sibling rivalry, the beauty of a baby’s smile, the joy of taking first steps and the list goes on.
The producers did an excellent job of “not getting in the way” and letting the babies lives unfold. It was as if the audience was an invisible presence in the sacred space of these families’ lives. Here at Kolcraft we give Babies movie 5 stars! (Here is one of our favorite scenes – Ponijao trying to sleep.)
A fun thing to do this Mother’s Day weekend is to see the Babies movie as a family and discuss it afterwords. We loved the movie so much, we are giving away a gift certificate so you can see the Babies movie on Kolcraft! All About Mother’s Day
This Sunday, all across the United States, mothers will be celebrated for their love, dedication, care and commitment to their children. This holiday dates back to ancient Greece honoring the great mother of gods and has since taken root in several religious and civil celebrations throughout the world.
Some will celebrate Mother’s Day with gifts, a special outing, preparing a meal for mom or going to her favorite restaurant. My mom still has the myriad of Mother’s Day cards my sister and I made for her throughout the years. She loves to look through them and tell stories of us when we were little – like the time we brought her breakfast in bed and managed to dump it on the sheets. Nothing like starting your special day doing laundry! Whether it’s breakfast in bed or a celebration at a bed and breakfast, the ways to pamper mom are endless.
