You Can Rate Kolcraft Products

June 20, 2011 1 Comment

At Kolcraft we believe in the importance of your opinion. Through parents’ honest opinions on our products, we learn what we are doing right and what we can improve. For this reason we have a ratings and review section on every product page. This also helps other parents who are researching products to know which product will meet their needs.

If you have a Kolcraft, Jeep, Sesame Street, Sealy or Contours product and want to give us your opinion please do! Just go to the product page and clink on the link near the top of hte page that says “Write a Review”. It’s easy to do and we do not sell or market to you from the ratings and reviews.

Go ahead, tell us what you think. We want to know!

Moms (and Dads) Matter at Kolcraft!

June 16, 2011 1 Comment

We know that Moms and Dads are up close and personal with baby products. At Kolcraft we want to make sure we are manufacturing products that work for you and your family. Before a product hits the market we survey parents about the product and at times have them test a pre-release sample of the product so we can see what works and what needs to be improved.

This group of parents who test our products are called Mom Matters (Cute little connection to our Baby Matters blog. Clever right? :) ). If you would like to be part of this group (Dads are included! It’s just we liked the sound of the double M), please send an email to marketing@kolcraft.com and include your:

  • Name
  • Address
  • Phone number
  • Preferred email address
  • Ages of your children

If you live in Chicago, we are teaming up with the Active Moms Club for a lunch and learn after the Biceps, Babies & Buggies class. You can sign up for Mom Matters then!

Please note that there are different specifications for different products that need feedback. If you don’t hear from us for awhile, know you are still on the list – we are just waiting to send a survey or product that fits your children’s ages.

Helping Kids Who Need It Most

May 26, 2011 5 Comments

We all want to provide the best for our children and give them a healthy, happy start to life. But what if you couldn’t even buy your child essentials like diapers, food, clothes? This is where charities like K.I.D.S. come into play. For 25 years, K.I.D.S. has been helping children who are homeless, whose parents are imprisoned, who are poor, sick, who have been impacted by natural disasters…and the list goes on.

Kolcraft has partnered with K.I.D.S. for many years by donating products and funds. We also started a program where our Kolcraft Moms can help K.I.D.S. We are so proud of our Kolcraft Moms who through their blogs, raise donations for these children whose only hope for a future is your kindness.

Will you join K.I.D.S. and Kolcraft in helping children? No donation is too small to bring hope.

Kolcraft Celebrates Take Your Child to Work Day

May 19, 2011 No Comments

We love children here at Kolcraft so when Take Your Child to Work Day came around, we were excited to have the opportunity to get to know some of our co-workers’ kids a little better. They spent the day learning about what their parents do, creating some fun crafts, going on scavenger hunts and eating pizza!

We also learned a lot from the kids as we saw Kolcraft through their eyes.

Enjoy the video from our Kolcraft Kids!

Kolcraft Joins the Red Cross in Providing Tornado Disaster Relief

May 5, 2011 15 Comments

Jill and Paul Comardo loading up baby products for Red Cross relief efforts

We have all seen the devastating photos of the tornado damage throughout the Southern United States. People have literally been left with nothing but the clothes on their backs. That means families have no food, shelter or even the priceless things that can’t be replaced like wedding albums, photos of their children, etc. While we can’t replace photos, Kolcraft has eased the burdens of families with children by donating skids of strollers and bassinets.

Kolcraft’s tornado relief efforts began with Paul Comardo, Quality Manager of our NC Plant. His wife, Jill, has been a Red Cross volunteer since 1995. She has volunteered her services responding to many disasters including floods in North and South Dakota and Georgia, hurricane relief in Puerto Rico, a 6 week stint in NYC during the 9/11 terrorist disaster plus responding to local home fires and such as the need arises . Her training and experience qualifies her as a Disaster Services Supervisor.

Jill and Paul brainstormed on ways that Kolcraft could help the families who had been impacted by the tornado.  Kolcraft’s president, Tom Koltun, generously donated baby products that were loaded into a truck and brought to Fayetteville where there was a combined donation event between the Red Cross, Salvation Army and the United Way.

There was immense gratitude from the volunteers and Kolcraft was happy to be part of the relief efforts.

It was very gratifying to help and my wife and I appreciate Tom Koltun’s generosity very much. It’s nice to know you work for a company that cares. – Paul Camardo, Kolcraft employee

If you would like to donate to the Red Cross to help the victims of the tornado, you can find more information here.

Today Is SIDS Awareness Day

April 29, 2011 No Comments

Today is SIDS Awareness Day and here at Kolcraft we feel this issue is too important to ignore.

SIDS is the number one cause of death in infants between one month and one year of age. This is a terrible tragedy and one that little by little research is shedding more light upon, but more funding is needed to bring SIDS’ numbers down. Check out Spring for SIDS and how you can help.

Ways to Lower Risk of  SIDS:

  1. Always put your baby on her back to sleep.
  2. Give baby his own safe sleeping space.
  3. Put baby to sleep on a firm crib mattress.
  4. Keep baby’s sleeping space free of pillows, blankets and toys.
  5. Do not use crib bumpers.
  6. Keep the air in baby’s room fresh by using a fan.
  7. Do not allow smoking around your baby. Even smokey clothes can impact your baby.
  8. Limit baby’s exposure to infection. Feel free to ask people to wash their hands before holding your baby.
