Easy Gratitude Turkey Child Craft for Thanksgiving

November 21, 2012 Activities, Crafts, Holidays 7 Comments

This easy craft is a great way to teach your child about gratitude while making a cute Thanksgiving table decoration. One of our two-year-old Kolcraft Kids had fun making the Gratitude Turkey in the photo above. :)

What you need:

  1. Construction paper
  2. Brown tissue paper
  3. Non-toxic marker
  4. Googly eyes (or use construction paper for eyes)
  5. Non-toxic glue
  6. Scissors (adult use only)

What to do:

  1. Form brown tissue paper into a ball for the turkey’s body
  2. Cut construction paper into strips for the turkey feathers
  3. Have everyone in the family write what they are grateful for on a feather.
  4. Glue the feathers to the back of the brown ball.
  5. Glue googly eyes and a yellow construction paper beak on the front of the brown ball.

i love this idea. its alot better of a craft than just doing something plain, such as a traceable handprint turkey craft, i like that it has the kids think about things to be greatfull for.
