my 3yr old daughter loves to watch the birds.
unfortunately, she also thinks they will come sit on her hand like they do in Snow white!

I think that’s great to teach your children about nature and letting them enjoy the outdoors! Sounds wonderful! I like to do outdoor activities with my grandchildren all the time, espcially walking on nature trails!

  3. I take my children and grandchildren on bird watching hikes. We find the birds, and try to take pictures of them, and we also find them in our bird manual, so we can identify what they are. The kids love it!

I have always wanted to go on a birth watching hike – can’t wait to take my wife and son!

What a great idea! I love the bug cookies they suggest! We will definitely have to try this.

  6. We usually go to the local park for picnics, it is less than 2 miles away and there is a lake the kiddo fishes, and we just relax. I think picnics are a great way to get the kiddos out and about.

Great Idea! This reminded me that a friend last year told of a spot nearby us where the birds will eat from your hands if the kids stand still enough…just may do that this weekend!

Part of my schooling with my mother when I was younger involved bird flashcards to recognize the different types…this would have been so much fun in conjunction with that!
