Kolcraft Voluntary Recall of Contours LT Tandem Stroller

Contours Tandem LT stroller

Today Kolcraft announced a voluntary recall in cooperation with the CPSC. Although we have made many strollers with the name Contours only the Contours LT Tandem Stroller with model number ZT012 is part of this recall. You can find your model number on a paper label found on the top, rear edge of your stroller seat pad or on a sticker on the rear leg of your stroller frame.

The front wheel assembly can break, posing a fall hazard to the child in the stroller. In addition, for strollers manufactured in January and February 2012, the nuts that hold the stroller’s basket support screws in place can detach. Detached nuts can pose a choking hazard to young children. There have been no injuries reported.

If you have one of these models, please call (800)-453-7673 Monday-Thursday from 8 AM -6:45 PM and Friday 8 AM to 3:30 PM EST to order a free repair kit.

    I own one of these strollers and the screw on the handle bar fell out and one of the wheels is always coming off too.I purchased it on Feb.2011 tho model number is zt009

    I also have a LT Tandem stroller. ZT011, BKR1 . My front wheels are always falling off too. Manufacture date 3/29/11. I do love the options of switching the seats around and the large basket.

    I have bought the stroller in the time period specified and the wheels have not fallen off , however i would like to obtain the replacement parts.
    Can you kindly contact me as I require delivery to be international and dont know how to go about ordering this for delivery in South Africa.

    I also have a tandem stroller. ZT005 mfg date aug 2008. My front wheels fall off if you are not pushing it. I notice every time, but when other people use the stroller and don’t notice, they have put my kids in and started to push it before noticing, which could cause an accident. our screws come out, but I have fixed that with other screws. We actually lost the screw at the main joint, where theres a plastic type washer piece. my husband put a few metal washers there with a new bolt.

    My wife and I bought this stroller for our twins, used it for the first time on vacation at the beach, front wheel kept on folding in when we were pushing our boys in it. Guess that’s what we get for buying a stroller at WalMart. Hopefully the repair kit takes care of the problems.

    Although we did in fact recall this model of the Contours Options LT Tandem (#ZT012), we already have on the market an updated model (ZT014) that has all of the same great features. The old model is off the market and the new item is available now.

    The ZT005, manufacture date 02Aug08, should be recalled as well – the front wheels fall of of it as well, and my daughters finger has been pinched in the floppy seat handle bar joint. I do not recommend these strollers.

    I too have the ZT005 as some others noted above. One of the front wheels comes off of mine also. We recently moved and I cannot locate the wheel. I was a little disappointed that I had to pay $19 to have a new wheel sent to me. If it had just stayed on, I would not have to buy a new one!!
    Also, the part for my model wasn’t listed online in the replacement parts. I had to call to request it.
    I hope this replacement wheel is better than the last one and stays in place.

    We bought our ZT014 and had it shipped internationally to South Korea. Although the recall was on the ZT012, we’ve had problems with the nuts unfastening early on and would carry tools along to tighten it. By the 2nd month, we lost the locking bolt and haven’t been able to find one to fit. Two days ago, the front left side of the frame snapped and broke. Sorely disappointed as we’ve invested so much time & effort to get this tandem here in Korea (not avail through Korean retailers) and have had this stroller less than 6 months!! I’ve emailed Kolcraft’s customer service. Now hoping they’ll resolve this promptly since we’ll be leaving ROK in 5 weeks and traveling the next 4 months but haven’t any wheels for our twins!!

    I just stumbled across this. I bought this stroller used but in excellent condition in 2009. After a while the screws in the handle bar area came off and the handle bar would detach when putting the stroller away. I bought my friends from her used after having repeated problems with this, because I was having twins, and the same exact same thing happens on this one. Crazy that there are multiple issues with screws coming out in more than one place on the stroller. how disappointing.

    I have the 09 model and have had problems with it with the front wheels falling off and the stroller not locking/unlocking properly, we had to stop using it. Was expensive. Very disappointed. I called and Made my concerns but got nowhere.

    In fact, even attempting so many submissions is a waste of time, since the editors who see your irrelevant content will delete it without a second look.

    You can check out the statistics of page of views for your web pages using free tools that are available on the internet.
    So even though it is still a possibility to get
    a good result in search engines, the results are completely different for a misspelled keyword than the results for a correctly spelled one.

    We have a ZT014 from Aug 12, 2012 and the front wheels both fell off and the bars that connect into the legs are bent. My wife and I have both e-mailed Kolcraft (she used the online form and I used an e-mail contact) with no response. It is difficult to find time to call them during normal business hours right now. Love the stroller, not too fond of the response times so far. We intend to try to find 15 minutes during a lunch break to call, I hope that is enough time.

    We also have a ZT014 with a wheel issue. The wheel assembly is broken and allows the connecting pin to move too freely. causing the wheel to turn sideways then jam, frequently causing the wheel to rub on the basket and also stopping the stroller suddenly. This last has been problematic for the children aboard (neck jerking.) Our purchase was made in December, 2014 at Toys ‘Я’ US (Canada.) Should we be getting the same wheels sent to replace the ZT012, and how is shipping determined for non-US?

    I have a Contours Options LT double stroller ZT014 and the frame is crooked. I’m scared it’s going to collapse on the 3 month old twins I nanny for. I purchased this a couple hrs ago for my niece and nephew. I pulled it out of storage to notice that it clearly doesn’t look safe enough to put the twins in. Can someone please explain why all these double strollers are faulty?

    My mom has this stroller she never used it recently she gave it to me because I have twins and I used it once but now I’m currently online searching for a new frame because the wheel bends in when I try to push it and she didn’t know their was a recall
