During our Mom Mondays we love to introduce you to moms who inspire us. We also like to introduce you to people who make the job of parenting a little easier and we are happy to give you a very timely interview. While at the ABC show we were lucky enough to meet up with Katie from Crane Humidifiers. This lady knows her stuff! She showed us their amazing humidifiers that pediatricians recommend. You will love the benefits of these humidifiers  which come in kid-friendly designs! I had the opportunity to try one out and give it 5 stars because there was a marked difference in allergy and cold relief!

Why is having a humidifier so important for your child?

Adding moisture to a room moistens nasal passages, soothes dry coughs, and helps with nose bleeds, chapped lips and dry skin. Great for helping relieve cold and flu symptoms too so you and your child can sleep peacefully at night!

Are there different kinds of humidifiers?

Yes, generally three types:

  1. Cool mist
  2. Warm mist
  3. Evaporative

All three designs put moisture into the air. Pediatricians recommend cool mist over warm mist, because warm mist boils the water and produces a steam. Doctors are concerned about possible burning from the steam.

What are some of the success stories you have heard from parents who started to use humidifiers?

I have heard that our whimsical designs put a smile on a child’s face. When you child is sick and miserable anything that will make them smile is a relief to a parent.

Do you have a favorite design of your humidifiers?

I love the cow. I think is adorable. I also like the sleek look of the new drop shapes designs.

If you could travel anywhere in the world, where would you go & what would you do there? India. Friends that have visited say it is very colorful. I love Indian curries. India seems exotic to me.

What’s something always found in your fridge? Salsa

    I like the dog cool mist humidifier! My son actually has a cold right now & a horrible cough & this would help him. He’s too little to blow his nose & get all the yucky stuff out. My Mom was asking me this morning if I had a humidifier. We used a friends, when he was smaller, for a week after we had bought one that did not work so we returned it. These are all really cute! My son gets excited when he sees dogs so this would be perfect for him!

    My favourite is the Frog Cool Mist Humidifier Model # EE-3191. My son would absolutely loves this as he is really into frogs right now. Whenever he sees the Nickolodeon frogs on a DVD he gets very excited, smiles and yells “fwog”. This would be fun for him to look at and also help him breathe better during the cold & flu season.

    most of my Children have Asthma and we really need something like this for them and it will also help with their colds when needed, I needed this last week my Little guy had Croup and he is still trying to get over it

    I love the frog one . It would match the room decor of my twin boys . One has a very hard time breathing lately , possible asthma .

    I love the elephant because that is what my daughters room is decorated in! That would be so cute in there! I also like the sports one for my son because that is how his room is decorated! :o )

    I like the PIg Cool Mist Humidifier. I like that this gives me an alternative to Over the Counter medication and the pig is cute!

    I liked Panda Green Mist Humidifier, because it is cute and has an automatic shut off when the tank is empty. Safe for everybody!

    I like the Penguin Cool Mist Humidifier Model # EE-865 best. We have a running joke in our family about the “cult of the penguin” – it’s silly but it makes us giggle, and who wouldn’t want a humidifier that can make you giggle when you’re sick? Or just because it’s winter?

    I like the elephant cool mist humidifier. It would be perfect in my son’s jungle themed nursery! It so cute. This also is wonderful with the winter season in full effect it would help him breathe better!

    I love the dragon humidifier! My son has asthma, he uses a nebulizer for his daily medicine with a dragon mask that looks like smoke is coming out… Now he loves all things dragons and dinosaurs!

    I love the penguin. My two oldest boys love penguins. They would be happy to have a penguin in their room!

    Thank you for the reasons on why humidifiers are important. I was only aware of a few benefits. I’m thankful for this post! I’m going to pull out my humidifier tonight. I’m keeping my fingers crossed that I win, so I can put my old humidifier in my room and give my boys a cute one!

    As I listened to my kid, who sounded like a piggie, having a hard breathing normally, I was mad I didn’t have a working humidifier. She sleeps with one often to help ease her breathing. her tongue and cheeck swell so often that it’s an issue. Thanks for posting the importance of them.
