National Trail Mix Day Tasty Easy Recipe

Today is National Trail Mix Day. Fun fact – Kolcraft’s President, Tom Koltun, is a triathlete and knows the importance of grab and go energy snacks. The following is his favorite trail mix that is easy to make and super tasty!

What you need:

  1. Cup of peanuts
  2. Cup of cashews
  3. Half a cup of almonds
  4. Cup of raisins
  5. Cup of m&ms
  6. Plastic bag or even better – reusable container

What to do:

Mix all the ingredients in container and enjoy!

    This sounds great, although I’m not a big fan of peanuts. I’m sure that you’re recipe would just as good
    with cashews in place of peanuts and maybe the one of those newfangled candy drops like almond joy,etc.

    We’ve been making variations of this since our Girl Scout days. Now I often take it to work with me as an easy mid-morning or afternoon snack.

  3. Mix sounds yummy. Please use caution in using in giving peanuts & tree nuts to very young children, do to high incidence of allergies.

    My kids love making trail mix and coming up with new combos…their current fav is similar to this one, but with dried bananas instead of m&m’s :)

    we do something like this also, I like to add some pretzels and sometimes a little bit of coconut flakes

    Yum! My kids love trail mix. I think it will be cheaper to make myself than buy already made, that way you can add and delete what ever you want.
