Summer Fun Bee Craft

June 3, 2011 Crafts 8 Comments

Warmer weather brings green trees, singing birds and buzzing bees. This fun easy craft will get your kids buzzing with excitement.

What you need:

  • Yellow construction paper
  • Black construction paper
  • Black marker
  • Googly eyes
  • Non toxic glue or double sided tape
  • Black Pipe Cleaners
  • Non toxic finger paint
  • Scissors (adult use only)

What to do:

  1. Draw the body of the bee by putting one smaller circle on top of a bigger circle
  2. Cut out a little back half circle with a point for top of bee’s head
  3. Cut out a “parenthesis” with a point for the bee’s stinger
  4. Cut a pipe cleaner in half & bend it to look like antennae
  5. Glue or tape pipe cleaner to back of bee’s head
  6. Glue googly eyes on bee
  7. Draw bee’s nose and mouth
  8. Dip your child’s thumb in finger paint and have him make stripes across the bee with his thumbprints

Now you not only have a cute little summer bee craft, but you have your child’s little fingerprints to keep as a reminder of how small he once was!
