Teddy Bear Activities for Your Child

September 14, 2012 Celebrations, Uncategorized 18 Comments

We all have that one toy that acts or acted as our companion on various occasions when we needed them the most. On September 9th  we celebrated Teddy Bear day – a day to remember the teddy bears we once had or to celebrate our children’s teddy bears that they tightly hold for comfort. Since teddy bears are so important we think that they should be celebrated beyond just September 9th.  After all it’s not only humans who receive comfort from teddy bears – animals do too! We love this adorable article of how a sloth makes a companion out of a teddy bear and holds on to it day and night.

Why not celebrate the love of teddy bears with your child this weekend?

Teddy Bear Party Ideas:

  • Throw a teddy bear tea party with apple juice and invite your child’s and his friends to bring their teddy bears.
  • Have a teddy bear parade. Put your child’s teddy in her stroller, decorate the stroller and walk around the block with your child. The more people in your parade the better!
  • Sing a teddy bear song. We love this one that was given to us by a Kolcraft Mom.

To the tune of Twinkle, Twinkle Little Star

Pick your bear up off the ground

And go dancing all around

Hold him high and hold him low

Twirl him fast and twirl him slow

‘Round and ’round and ’round you go

When you dance, don’t let him go.

Happy Teddy Bear Cuddling!
