12. Are your strollers suitable for infants and is there a suggested minimum weight limit?

Until your child is able to sit up unassisted, Kolcraft recommends that you only place your infant with the stroller seat in the fullest recline position the stroller offers. An infant should not be placed into a stroller that does not have a reclining seat. One exception is the jogging stroller with recline, Kolcraft recommends that an infant should not use the stroller until they can sit up unassisted. Please see the specific stroller's instructions or call customer service for more information.

13. Does an infant car seat need to snap onto the Universal Car Seat Carrier?

Depending on the brand & model of your infant car seats, the car seat may or may not lock onto the carrier frame. The only way to securely attach the infant car seat to any Kolcraft Carrier frame is by using the restraint straps and making sure they are tightened as much as possible. You can test the car seat installation by moving it in all directions to ensure a tight fit to the carrier. When the restraint straps are tightened appropriately around an approved Infant car seat, all Universal Carrier models meet all relevant portions of the ASTM Stroller Standard, including the 360 degree rotation tests. It is also necessary that the infant is secured using the infant car seat’s own restraint system.

14. FAQ’s for Mattresses

  1. What is the strength of your mattresses?
The coils, border wire, and other materials used to create the mattress will support infants and toddlers.

  2. Have your mattresses passed Flammability testing and any other Regulations?
Yes, our mattresses meet the California Technical Bulletin 603 and the Federal flammability regulations, including 16 CFR 1632. Our mattresses meet all required standards and regulations. See the law tag on the mattress to determine which regulations each mattress meets.

  3. What are your mattress covers made of?
Kolcraft’s mattresses covers are made of vinyl reinforced with laminate, for easy cleaning and strength

  4. Are there air vents on Kolcraft’s mattresses?
Our mattresses are designed to ‘naturally breathe’ though a breathing fold located at the end of the mattress. Kolcraft mattresses do not use air vents. Air vents could separate from the covers and possibly become a choking hazard for children. Since crib mattresses are smaller than adult mattresses and the children using the mattress are much lighter, the breathing fold is a better alternative to the air vents to maintain the mattresses freshness while protecting the safety of your child.
