Are Baby Walkers Safe?

Every Kolcraft walker is certified by the Juvenile Products Manufacturers Association (JPMA).

The JPMA rules require that products comply with the American Society for Testing and Materials (ASTM) standard for Infant walkers. ASTM standards are developed by groups of leading experts, consumer groups and government safety agencies to develop the best safety requirements.

The ASTM standard for walkers includes a series of tests to examine whether or not a walker will tip over if it is pushed over the edge of a stair. All of our walker bases come with friction/rubber strips on the bottom to comply with these requirements for the baby's safety.

Additionally, there are several tip tests that re-enact situations where a child leans over the side of the walker to grab a toy on the floor. These tests are run while the walker is in its most vulnerable position.
